Mark and Penny are our BMS Link Missionaries. They are members of East Ham Baptist Church, London, and work in Bulgaria. After initial language study in Sofia, they are now working at the Baptist church in Kazanlak.
Mark says…
Kazanlak is a small town in central Bulgaria. The large part of the Baptist church there is made up of elderly women. There is a small youth presence and hardly any men. The church is however involved in its community. It has a feeding programme for the elderly of the church, which supplies cooked meals on a rota system… a medical care programme and… a church clinic next to the church building. It is also involved with three orphanages.
