World Pipe Band Championships
I really enjoyed the World Pipe Band Championships on Glasgow Green yesterday. Fortunately the weather held off and it didn’t turn into a Glasto mudbath. I spent most of the time at the Grade 1 Final Tuning Area, as the top bands pay attention to the detail that they hope will get them the ultimate prize in the pipe band world. I wish I knew more about the subtleties of what differentiates the bands.
The only bad news was that the Simon Fraser University PB from Vancouver wrested the title from Field Marshall Montgomery.

Shawbridge flats demolished
Two of the blocks of flats close to us were demolished this morning. Lots of vids on YouTube, but this one was the best.
